Privacy Policy
At VybeLocal, your privacy fuels our design. We collect the bare minimum—just enough to help you discover real‑world experiences—and guard it like the last good vinyl in a record shop.
1. Data We Collect
- Account basics: email, name, phone number and zip code. No birthdays, pets’ names, or mother’s maiden anything.
- Event activity: hosts you follow, events you RSVP to, vibe‑points you earn. Strictly in‑app to make recommendations—not for sale.
- Location (optional): city‑level only if you toggle “nearby vibez.” No background pings; GPS stays off unless you manually share.
2. Why We Use It
To connect humans IRL: The data lets us show you what’s happening around the corner—not across the planet. We never use it for ads or creepy retargeting.
3. Third‑Party Partners
We lean on trusted tools like Supabase and Vercel to power our stack. They see encrypted blobs, never raw profile details. All partners pass our “would we trust them with our weekend plans?” test.
4. Your Controls
- Download or delete your data anytime via Settings → Privacy.
- Opt‑out of location at launch or in Settings; the app still works, just less hyper‑local.
- Email privacy@vybelocal.com with any questions—we read every note.
5. SMS Program Terms

Use of SMS: VybeLocal uses SMS only for transactional purposes you initiate: one‑time passcodes for registration and to verify sensitive changes (like updating your email or phone). We do not send marketing via SMS.
Transactional messages: If you provide a phone number, we may send one‑time passcodes for registration and when you change your email or phone in Settings. These are not marketing.
Frequency: Event‑driven. Typically one message per verification attempt.
Charges: Message & data rates may apply.
Data use: We do not sell or share your phone number with third parties for their own marketing purposes. We only use your number to deliver transactional texts you request and to secure your account.
Opt‑Out / Help: Reply STOP to cancel, START to re‑subscribe, HELP for help. You can also contact support@vybelocal.com.
Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
6. Updates
If we ever need more data, we’ll ask first—clear, bold, no buried checkboxes. You’ll see the change here at least 14 days before it goes live.
